From rock to resin, a process we show, not just tell.

Gold grade Himalayan shilajit, harvested by our own team and sun-dried in our own facility over 40 to 60 days. Tested across seven independent labs. No middlemen between the mountain and your jar.

What 18 months of testing found

Shilajit is one of the scammiest products in the world.

75%
of the shilajit reaching the world from South Asia is extracted from Somali rock, then bought, processed and sold on as Himalayan.

The fraud almost never starts in the lab. It starts at the rock. Gold grade runs USD 40 to 50 per kilo. Somali rock runs USD 1.50. At thirty times the price gap, the incentive to relabel is obvious, and it is exactly what is happening.

We spent eighteen months testing suppliers by origin and by method before we decided to build our own facility instead.

Glucose syrup and apricot extractAdded as bulking agents to stretch weight and soften taste.
MusabbarA bittering herb used to fake potency, because buyers expect shilajit to taste bitter.
Synthetic fulvic acidSpiked directly into the batch so the certificate reads higher than the rock could ever produce.
Lignite and leonarditeBrown coal refined to post high purity numbers. Around USD 1.50 for a ready to sell 30g retail unit, jar and spoon included.
Relabelled lab reportsWe have had buyers show us a supplier's proof, only to recognise our own results underneath someone else's name.

A clean lab report is not proof. Coal-derived material can be refined to post high purity numbers, and synthetic fulvic acid can be spiked in directly. The most concerning sample we ever tested was not the dirtiest one. It was a fully lab-synthesised shilajit analogue carrying one of the cleanest looking reports we had seen.

Sourcing · rock types

Purification cannot fix the wrong rock.

Ask a supplier about processing and you learn very little. Ask about rock origin, altitude and rock type, and you learn everything.

THE ONLY ROCK WE RUN

Gold grade

USD 40–50 / KG

Dense and noticeably heavier in the hand, pulled from 16,000 to 18,000 feet where animals and other contaminants cannot reach. Clean mineral smell, clean taste. This is the only rock we run.

Danedar

REJECTED AT SORTING

Granular rock studded with droppings from Royle's pika and flying squirrels, pressed into the surface alongside herbs and shrubs. Common, cheap, and it smells and tastes of what is in it. We pull every piece and set it aside.

Somali rock

USD 1.50 / KG

Cheap import, increasingly bought, processed and sold on as Himalayan. Thirty times less than gold grade, and almost impossible to catch without origin testing.

Lignite & leonardite

NOT SHILAJIT

Coal-derived material, widely available on Alibaba and similar platforms. It fills fulvic acid claims on paper and nothing else.

See it for yourself

We would rather show you than tell you.

Anyone can write "pure" on a jar. Here is the rock coming off the cliff face, the tubs, the muslin, and the trays in the sun. Nothing staged.

Purification · 40 to 60 days

True Aftabi. Sun-dried, never rushed.

Heat degrades the actives that buyers pay for. The sun does not. Nothing in our cycle is boiled or fire driven at any point.

STAGE 01
Worker harvesting gold grade shilajit rock at altitude in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan

The climb

Our own workers, roped onto the cliff face at 16,000 feet. No contractors between the mountain and the facility.

STAGE 02
Danedar grade shilajit rock rejected at sorting

Sorted at the door

Danedar is pulled out and set aside. Every remaining rock is broken by hand and inspected again, because contamination hides.

STAGE 03
Twenty litre stainless steel tub used to soak shilajit rock in distilled water

The soak

Stainless tubs of water. A full day later the dead weight sinks and pure arraq is all that is left on top.

STAGE 04
Shilajit purification and filtration at the East-West facility in Mansehra

Muslin, then micron

Siphoned tub to tub through muslin, then a multi-stage micron line developed with our US advisor of twenty years.

STAGE 05
Aftabi sun drying tray frames holding shilajit in the open air

Tray to tray

14 to 22 days of switching trays until the liquid runs completely clear, with no sediment left at the bottom.

STAGE 06
Finished true Aftabi sun dried shilajit resin

Shade finish

35 to 40 more days in the sun, then the thickened resin moves to shade. This evens viscosity so the surface never hardens over a soft centre.

Quality · verified, not assumed

Every batch carries its own number.

Reports get edited. Numbers get inflated. So confirm ours directly with the lab that issued it, and ask every other supplier to let you do the same.

82–86%

Fulvic acid, batch after batch

Tested through a US laboratory using one consistent method. Not a one-off result, a number that holds across shipments and across labs.

Heavy metal thresholds

Measured against a 300 to 400mg daily dose, our results run roughly 80 percent under WHO, FDA, EU and California Prop 65 limits.

Before you buy, from anyone

Three questions that expose a trader.

Ask these of us too. Our goal is credibility for the whole shilajit industry, not just for our own jars.

1. Which range?

Not "Himalayan" as a marketing word. The valley, the district, the altitude. A real manufacturer answers in seconds.

2. Which rock type?

Gold grade or danedar. If they cannot answer, they did not sort it, which means nobody did.

3. Show me.

Ask for the rock on camera. Granular and flecked with droppings means danedar. Walk away.

Questions buyers actually ask

Before you enquire

01

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

Manufacturer. The facility in Ghazikot Township, Mansehra is owned and operated by East-West Shilajit Company. Our own workers harvest the rock in Gilgit-Baltistan. You are welcome to visit, or to watch the process documented day by day on our LinkedIn.

02

What does a sample cost?

Samples are free. You cover shipping only. We would rather you test our material properly than take our word for it.

03

Can we run our own third party lab test?

Yes, and we encourage it. Send the sample to any accredited lab you choose. Also confirm any report we give you directly with the lab that issued it, and do the same with every other supplier you are considering.

04

Do you produce Aatashi shilajit?

No. We produce Aftabi only. Aatashi is fire or heat processed to speed up output, and heat degrades the compound structure that sun-drying preserves. Classical texts favour Aftabi and our own comparisons back it up.

05

Why does your fulvic acid figure come with a caveat?

Because a percentage alone is not a comparable figure. Different labs apply different assay methods, reference standards and extraction parameters, and return different numbers for the same material. Ours runs 82 to 86 percent through one consistent US method, and we tell you the method rather than just the number.

06

What are the payment and shipping terms?

50 percent advance, 25 percent when the order is ready to ship, 25 percent on receipt. For bulk shipments you are responsible for import duties at your border. Full export documentation is prepared on our side.

Sell shilajit you can defend.

Tell us the format and the volume. We will send pricing, a current batch report, and a free sample you can test yourself.
