Eighteen months of testing other people's shilajit taught us the same lesson over and over. You cannot fix at the lab what went wrong at the rock. So we stopped buying, and started making.
Ask about processing and you learn very little. Ask about the rock and you learn everything.
East-West Shilajit Company was not founded to sell a supplement. It was founded because there was no supplier we were willing to put our name behind.
Shilajit is one of the most heavily adulterated products in the world, and the fraud almost never starts in the lab. It starts at the rock. Different ranges yield chemically different shilajit, and inside a single range the grades diverge sharply. A percentage on a certificate means nothing if nobody sorted the rock at the door.
So we built the whole chain ourselves. Our own workers roped onto the cliff face in Gilgit-Baltistan. Our own facility in Ghazikot Township, Mansehra. Distilled water as the only solvent the resin ever touches, and forty to sixty days of sun deciding when a batch is finished, never a shipping date.
Then we hand the result to seven independent laboratories and publish what comes back, batch number attached.
These are our own findings across the Himalayas, cross-checked against independent lab results and human-trial feedback gathered with our US advisor. Every one of them is a reason this facility exists.
Every claim we make sits on paper with a batch number attached. Check ours before you trust ours.

The rock comes off the cliff face on the backs of people we employ, and goes straight to a door we own. Nothing is subcontracted, nothing is shared, and there is no trader anywhere in the chain. You are welcome to visit, or to watch the whole cycle documented day by day on our LinkedIn.
No account managers and no sales layer. When you enquire, you talk to the people who own the decisions.
Research is where I learned to test claims instead of trusting them. That habit followed me home.
His path started far from the Himalayas, as a Doctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge and then a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard. Years of that work leave one instinct above all others: never accept a number without asking how it was produced.
Returning to the Pakistani Himalayas, he found an industry running on shortcuts, and spent eighteen months testing shilajit by origin and by process before concluding that the only way to guarantee the product was to make it himself. He runs sourcing, the purification protocol and the testing programme personally, and documents the full cycle publicly.
Outside shilajit he founded EduSave the Children, a nonprofit widening education and healthcare access for underprivileged children in Pakistan. The same principle runs through both: build something real, and make sure it reaches the people it is meant for.
REPLACE THIS with one line in their own words, the way Dr. Imran's quote works above.
REPLACE THIS PARAGRAPH. Two or three sentences on what this person actually runs day to day, whether that is operations, the US market, formulation, or commercial partnerships.
REPLACE THIS TOO. A line on their background, where they trained or worked before, and how long they have been building this alongside Dr. Imran. Keep it specific, because a vague second bio weakens the first one.
Pulled from 16,000 to 18,000 feet, where animals and contaminants cannot reach. Danedar is set aside at the door, every time, whatever the order size.
Forty to sixty days, decided by weather and by the tray, never by a shipping date. Nothing is boiled or fire driven at any point in the cycle.
Every batch is logged daily and tested independently. We tell you the method behind the number, because a percentage without a method is not a comparable figure.
Ask to see the rock, the tubs, the trays, the people. If a supplier will not show you, that refusal is your answer. We would rather you learn to check than take our word.

Forty kilos of rock is not a commodity line on an invoice. It is six months of school fees, medicine and food for the family that pulled it off the mountain. That is why our harvesters are our own employees, not contractors, and why non-destructive collection is not negotiable. This is not just a supplement. It is a livelihood and a heritage.
